Get those grills ready! Summer is here and there is no better place to prepare, cook and eat a 4th of July meal than in the great outdoors. Today I am sharing a recipe I tried from Martha Stewart (you may remember I met her a few months ago) for Grilled Corn.
When we were on vacation, we tried to grill EVERYTHING. It's a novelty for these city-folk. And since I adore corn on the cob I went online to find how to do it. Turns out it's simple. Here are the directions from Martha:
1. Peel back husks, leaving them attached at the base of the ear. Remove and discard silk; pull husks back over corn. Place ears in a large bowl or pot; cover with cold water. Let soak 10 minutes.
2. Preheat grill to high; lightly oil grates. Drain corn. Arrange ears on grill. Cover and cook, turning occasionally, using tongs, until husks are slightly charred and corn is tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove ears from grill. Holding bottom of hot ears with a towel, peel back husks and, with a knife, coat kernels with butter. Season corn with salt, pepper, and chili powder or paprika. Serve.
They came out great (and I didn't have to do a thing in the kitchen--hurrah). Don't forget to get the kids involved in this one. Shucking corn can be a fun family affair.
Now it's your turn? What are you cooking up for the 4th of July Holiday?

We had corn on the cob tonight but it sure didn't look as fantastic as yours does.
I love corn done this way! I can't wait until we get some local corn. I have a little patch myself but won't get to harvest until nearly fall. Thanks Nicole for stopping by my blog and joining in Flashback Friday.

We love grilled corn! It's one of our favorite summer foods!
Your grilled corn looks awesome! I have to give it a try. We always end up with it on top of the stove.
I'm away this 4th of July or I would be serving this colorful dish for sure.

Happy 4th of July! I know this is a festive day in America with lots of family gatherings and lots of food.Corn on the cob is something I never ate before. You hardly see any corn on the cob her in the supermarkets and it is not a traditional food for us likt it is for you US folk. Enjoy the day and the grilled food. Hope to see you again on my blog.
We're grilling corn tonight. I've never soaked it--must try that. Have a great one.
I'm sorry I missed Friday Feasts this week...we aren't home so there's no cooking involved for me. I will be back sharing soon. My Uverse is supposed to be installed and up running by Thursday...here's hoping. I hope you will join me beginning in August for Crock Pot Wednesdays on my blog, Diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com. I'd love to see what you can share.
